The Death of Jesus is for us

If somehow we could become one with Jesus, that means we'll become an entity that has been punished, because Jesus was punished.
And because Jesus will live forever, through Him we too will live forever.

So the law remains, that sin should be punished with death. In Him we have already died, in Him we live again. The law remains forever, but would have nothing on us anymore
